Juice Wrld dreads have become a topic of interest due to the cultural impact he left after his death! Having passed away in 2019 we have multiple images of music fans across the world styling their hair in similar ways in homage of the rapper.
Our editorial will highlight the evolution of his dreadlocks, his hair type, and their appearance before his death.
How & When did Juice Wrld Dreads Start?
How: He began his dreads through twisting with gel and these were regularly maintained for the first year. After which we can see he began to semi freeform his hair evident by his locks being different variations, short, long, thick, and thin.
In addition to this his hair type being a 4B allowed his dreads to mature faster due to the tight coil pattern. Jay z dreads would be a perfect example of having the same hairtype as Juice Wrld.
When: Through our research we can see his starter dreads journey began in 2015 during which his sides were kept shaved creating the hightop dreads look.
For a in depth look of the foundation for his dreadlocks check out the video below from Greatlocks who details his starter process and hairstyle.
Having researched his hair its clear to see that Juice Wrld did not style his hair in a particular way, he preferred to colour it often with the help of a loctitian. Which will be evident by our gallery below.

Tips if you want Similar Dreads
Do your research if you want similar Dreads
While there is a lot of conflicting information with regards to dreadlocks, we still advise you to do research. The most important things at the initial stage will be to watch videos online and make notes of the peoples dreads you admire.
We should also mention that its best you avoid placing any colour or bleach in your hair for the first few months as your hair begins to develop.
Talk to a loctician and get a Consultation
Talking to a loctician is our best advise! They are the professionals who live and breathe hair.
Plus, it’s even more crucial if you’ve been inspired by his multi coloured dreads and wanting something similar.
During the consultations locitians will be able to have a closer look at your hair type, discussion process, hair products to use and avoid and parting systems.
Ensure you save the images of your desired style to your loctician and explain what you’re looking for.
