When it comes to money, both the NBA and OnlyFans rake in jaw-dropping amounts.

But in 2023, content creators on the subscription platform actually earned more than the entire NBA roster combined.

According to Basketball Forever, OnlyFans creators collectively pulled in $6.6 billion last year, compared to the $4.9 billion earned by NBA players.

That’s a staggering $1.7 billion difference.

To put that in perspective, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was the league’s top earner, making $51.9 million in the 2023/24 season (set to rise to $55.7 million next year).

Other stars like LeBron James ($47.6M) and Kevin Durant ($47.6M) followed close behind.

But even their massive salaries pale in comparison to what top creators pull in. Bella Thorne reportedly makes $11 million a month on OnlyFans — a figure that easily outpaces NBA superstars.

The difference largely comes down to numbers: with over 2.1 million creators on OnlyFans versus just 600 NBA players, the combined total heavily favors the content platform.

Not all creators hit millionaire status, of course. Many earn far less, with some averaging just a few thousand dollars a year.

But extreme cases, like Bonnie Blue’s claim of making $250,000 in just 21 days, fuel the perception of OnlyFans as an insanely lucrative career path.

The comparison sparked debate online, with NBA fans pointing out that while OnlyFans’ total income is higher, the average NBA player still makes millions, compared to much smaller averages per creator. Others, however, joked they’d “rather watch p**n than basketball.”
