While most people struggle to finish three sets of ten pull-ups, Oh Yohan did far more.

He completed 11,707 pull-ups in 24 hours in late-September, a mark Guinness World Records officially confirmed on 6 June, 2025.

To grasp the scale: that works out to almost eight pull-ups every minute for a full day.

“Oh Yohan’s record-breaking journey began in 2019 during his military service. Inspired by a former record holder yet challenged by rising competition, he pushed through doubts with unwavering support from his family, friends, and fellow soldiers.

After years of training and enduring a demanding 24-hour challenge, he succeeded and proudly dedicated his result to his military unit, which shaped his discipline, strength, and spirit.”

Oh Yohan had earlier set a different record with 8,707 pull-ups, but that title was overtaken within a week.

He prepared for a new attempt, then briefly paused when his wife was about to give birth to their second child, according to NDTV.

“I served in the Republic of Korea 707th Special Mission Group. To honour the number 707, which represents the unit I served in, I finished my pull-up challenge at 11,707 reps,”

We may not manage 11,707 pull-ups in 24 hours, but we can still raise our own standards.
