Millions might dream of marrying former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson.
One fan appears to have achieved something close to that.
Tomlinson seemingly had no idea it had happened.
The odd episode unfolded while he toured behind his ‘Faith In The Future’ album earlier this year.
He was playing shows and meeting fans around the world when the encounter took place.
Louis Tomlinson signs ‘declaration of marriage’
The fan posted the footage to her TikTok account.
It happened in Jakarta, where the ‘Bigger Than Me’ singer met the woman who now calls herself his wife.
The fan is a TikToker known as @ladycryalot. She arrived prepared.
In her TikTok post she said:
“So I just got back from ‘Faith in the Future’ in Jakarta, and I lost my voice because I was having fun, I was having so much fun.
And I went there as a single woman, right? I don’t have any boyfriend, I don’t have any fiancée or something like that, but I got back from there as a married woman.”
She claimed the paper Tomlinson signed was a marriage certificate featuring a photo of them together.
Tomlinson appeared to notice it wasn’t an ordinary autograph request. He asked, “What’s this, some kind of declaration of marriage, is it?”
The singer signed the document and quipped he might need to return to Jakarta more often if his ‘wife’ wanted him to.
So, how exactly did she pull this off?
She says the item he signed was a certificate naming them as married.
The fan later explained the backstory.
She said she didn’t attend the meet-and-greet herself. Her friend did.
Her friend asked Tomlinson, “are you going to go back to Jakarta”, and Tomlinson replied, “if my wife wants to”, after signing the document.
“I’m his wife, are you kidding me?” she added.
Note: Marriages in Indonesia require a formal ceremony to gain legal recognition.
The certificate makes a memorable keepsake, but it does not legally mean Tomlinson now has a new wife.
