Outside of his athletic abilities a growing interest amongst football fans has been directed towards Jalen Ramsey Hair styles that he’s worn throughout his career.

How and when did Jalen Ramsey Dreads Start
How: Jalen Ramsey dreads are a result of his 2 strand twists being left long enough to matt together to create 1 individual dreadlock.
In the above image we have circled his 2 strand twists losing its pattern which would indicate hair is being matted together to form into dreads.
When: From our archives we can see that the athlete has began his transition during the summer of 2020 (August to be exact)
His dreads have matured since then and continue to gain length and density.

Large Afro
One of the most memorable afros in the football league, ok well not compared to Colin Kaepernick’s afro but still it was remarkable!
We saw the athlete sporting his large afro from time to time. This is also an afro hair maintenance procedure of letting his hair take breaks in between his protective styling since his signature look was box braids.
Box Braids
A common hairstyle amongst black American football athletes is the box braids due to them being a protective hairstyle which can be worn in multiple ways.
His braids weren’t just practical as it allowed hair to sit perfectly under the helmet but could be worn off the field and styled with all outfits. Best of both worlds!
Whilst his braids are long gone we can always look back for memories sake!
Twists
Back in 2018 Jalen tweeted whether he should stick to braids or his twists and by the response of fans it was his twists which he wore on several occasions.
Tip from us – If you like the ropey aesthetic from 2 strand twists you have the option to do Flat twists which essentially is a combination of two strand twists and cornrows in one hairstyle.
Hair is braided to the scalp but using 2 strands of hair.
Dreadlocks
Having styled his hair in braids and twists for years Jalen wanted a change which would explain his starter dreads.
Today we can see his dreads along with blonde dye on 2 to 3 individual locks. Due to starting his dreads through the 2 strand twist method they appear thicker than the traditional route most people go.
As it stands today there above his shoulder, but we predict the will be past that in another years’ time.
For now what matters is the health of his hair which looks great!
