“If you could please circle the correct answer and return this letter within the stamped addressed envelope provided we will be tremendously grateful. This will help eradicate the social faux pas when mentioning the word Nike”

Credit to Kendal & Ben for assisting with the end of this cultural debate. The pair also went on to say
‘We included a stamped addressed envelope inside the letter so that he could simply circle the answer and send it back to enlighten us all. We didn’t actually think that he would do it. But all credit to him, a few weeks later the letter returned!’
The response from Mr Knight himself puts an end to any confusion on how to pronounce Nike. It has been settled once and for all, Its Nikey.
While I do admit to still pronouncing the brand as “Nike” as well of my other British counterparts we acknowledge its correct articulation.
