What’s the easiest way to get free McDonald’s food? For FaZe Clan streamers, the answer was simple: bring along a fake Kanye West.
During FaZe’s ongoing company-wide subathon—a marathon-style stream that only ends when fans stop subscribing—members Ronaldo, Max, and Lacy decided to spice things up by hiring a Kanye impersonator. Complete with bodyguards, the lookalike was convincing enough to fool not only people on the street in Hollywood, but also the staff at a local McDonald’s.

How it went down
In a now-viral clip, the fake Kanye hangs back while one of his “bodyguards” steps up to the cashier. With total confidence, he declares:
“Excuse me. Mr. Kanye West would like a cheeseburger on the house, please.”
The bodyguard repeats the request until the stunned staff agrees, at which point the streamers jokingly add two McFlurrys to the order. To their amazement, they walked away with everything—free.
The bodyguard did leave behind a T-shirt, but overall, the group successfully gamed the system with nothing more than celebrity clout and good acting.
The crowd reaction
Outside on Hollywood Boulevard, the group drew a crowd of onlookers who were convinced they were seeing the real Kanye. The buzz only added to the spectacle of the prank, cementing it as one of the more bizarre—and hilarious—moments of FaZe’s subathon.

Why it worked
The real Kanye West has actually interacted with streamers before, making the prank all the more believable. He famously clashed with Twitch star Kai Cenat after Cenat complained about receiving massive YZY joggers, and Kanye’s name has popped up around livestream culture more than once.
With streaming and celebrity culture colliding more than ever—comedian Druski and actor Kevin Hart even joined Cenat for a record-breaking Twitch stream earlier this year—it’s not surprising that impersonators can cause a stir.
But the takeaway here? Sometimes, all it takes to get free food is a convincing lookalike, a couple of bodyguards, and the magic words: “It’s for Kanye West.”
