DJ Khaled Beard has to be one of the most recognisable in Hip Hop due to his personal grooming routine.

One look at his Instagram feed, and you can tell that he prides himself on his appearance, but it’s not just about his new clothes or nice cars. At this point we wouldn’t be surprised if he brought out his own hair and beard products.

So if you want to know how to get the DJ Khaled beard, read on!

Dj Khaled Bushy Full Beard (Current Signature Look)

Dj Khaled has been rocking his current signature look for a few years now. The beard is full and comprehensive but still trimmed to allow it to fit nicely on his face. He personally fly’s his barber to wherever he is in the world to ensure his beard is well groomed for his public appearances.

It’s one of those beards that fit so perfectly on your face that you never want to get rid of it. Achieving a similar beard requires patience, maintenance and a grooming routine.

GQ spoke to Khaleds personal barber about the mistakes men make when it comes to growing a beard, stating

“Not having the patience to let their beards flourish. A lot of guys want to cut their beards because they say it gets itchy or it’s not growing in right, but that’s only a phase in the growth process. You should first grow your beard for at least three weeks to see its full potential.”

Clean Shave

Prior to his signature big beard that were all used to today, it all started with his clean shaven beard. A quick google search of Khaled in 2005 and you will see a completely different look. He mostly had stubble, goatee or the chinstrap beard.

To achieve this we require that you firstly visit your barber and get him to show you the best options for your face or you’re free to shave yourself.

If necessary, after trimming or shaping your facial hair, use an aftershave balm or moisturizer. You can also apply beard oil before bedtime as part of a daily routine.

Chin Strap Beard

Chin Strap Beard

When it comes to DJ Khaled beards, this is most likely what people are most familiar with, often referred to as chin strap beards. The chin strap beard is a full beard that extends from your neck down past your chin.

But not quite all of the way onto your lip. The key feature of a chin strap beard is its length and lack of a mustache. Make sure you get these things right for an authentic DJ Khaled look.

Grow a Full Beard

Most men can grow at least some facial hair, but if your face is smooth, it might take a while to come in fully—so don’t be discouraged if it takes six months or longer for your face fuzz to reach DJ-Khaled levels.

Most guys don’t have the patience to let their beards flourish. Many guys want to cut their beards because they say it gets itchy or not growing in the right way, but that’s only a phase in the growth process.

We must state again, as advised by his personal barber, You should first grow your beard for at least three weeks to see its full potential. Then, as long as you comb through your beard and wash and condition it, you will achieve a healthy, full beard. Beards carry tons of germs, so washing and conditioning every day are recommended.

How to get the DJ Khaled Beard

Here are four steps on how to get your own DJ Khaled beard:

  • First, let’s talk about what you need. The one key ingredient is patience, so don’t rush through these steps. Instead, make sure you have at least a couple of months before you commit to growing your beard out to look thick and clean.
  • You also need some hair growth oil (you can find all of these products on Amazon), which I recommend using as part of your routine once or twice a day.
  • Once you have your tools in place, let’s jump into it. First, you need to trim it down to be short and manageable. If you feel like you have a lot of hair, start with about two weeks of stubble. Next, you’ll want to grow it out for about a month until you have an inch or two of hair that you can work with. At that point, it’s time to shape it up.
  • Finally, maintain it by keeping your beard oil handy and using it every few days. This will keep your beard soft, and you’ll never have a bad hair day, or in this case a bad beard day.
