How: Denzel Curry has had 2 set of locks both started with different methods. His first set of dreads were semi freeform dreads and his dreads today are wicks.
His most recent wicks dreads were started by a Crochet Hook which also involves the sectioning of parts and knotting of hair with the hook.
When: His first set of dreads began from 2013 and ended in 2019 and his most recent dreads have been growing from 2021.
Why did he cut his 1st set of Dreads: In a short video clip he shared that he wanted a new change since a lot of negative energy had been attached to his dreads.
For some individuals dreads are simply just a hairstyle and for others it’s a spiritual journey which is the latter for the rapper.

His starter dreads were the foundation for his mature freeform locks. In the image below we can see Denzel’s afro was twisted and then left to mature and matt together.

Due to the contrast blonde makes against dark skin it allows the colour to pop more which we believe is the reason Denzel coloured his old set of dreads.
