The mystery of the man born with absolutely massive arms and hands has never been solved.

Jeff Dabe has gained over one million followers on TikTok by sharing videos that showcase his extraordinary body parts in everyday life.

The 59-year-old, nicknamed “Popeye” in school, became famous because of his giant arms and hands. His forearms measure 19 inches (49 cm) in circumference, and each of his huge hands can hold a basketball.

Originally from Minnesota, Jeff embraced his uniqueness and went on to become a world-champion arm wrestler, having started in the sport as a youngster in the US.

He once said:

“Thanks to the World Armwrestling League I am now competing with people from all over America. It’s so fun to travel to places we wouldn’t normally go.”

Jeff admitted that while his hand size shocks people, he also has the strength to back it up:

“People freak out when they see my hands in real life.”

His arms often cause people to stop and stare. At drive-throughs, cashiers sometimes freeze when he hands them money. Children are the most curious, approaching him directly with questions, while some adults can be hesitant or even afraid at first. Jeff enjoys these interactions, saying:

“Kids are the funniest. They are not shy and they come up and ask right away. They don’t see anything wrong with it.”

Given the size of his limbs, many have raised health concerns. The University of Minnesota conducted tests for gigantism and elephantiasis, but found no evidence of either condition.

Jeff reassured fans:

“I can do everything just fine like everyone else. I even used to work on cars—it was relaxing to me. The only thing I can’t do is find good gloves.”
